This will be my first MR build I can fly them but like I said this will be my first build so seeking advice. I am currently looking at the following frames:

Vulcan Octo
Carbon Core Octo
Skyjib 8
Cinestar 8

Between the Vulcan and Carbon core is there much of a difference? I am looking to build a MR that can carry up to a Red Epic camera, but most of the time will either have a Cannon T5i, Sony Nex 7, or Panasonic GH3 on it. I know I am looking to build a 6s setup. The skyjib and cinestar are only if the vulcan and carbon core cannot do the job any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have just got into this hobby - not sure why I got interested in it but I am sticking with it. I got a Heli-Max 1SQ VCam to experiment with and get use to flying quads. I have a 700 gm HD Camcorder that I want to send aloft and have looked at many different MRs. My choice is the Streak 1000 from Alware. I am still researching so hopefully we can get some good advice here as to what is the best. The Streak 1000 is an octocopter. I like the design but the frame alone is $1100. To that I need to add the motors, ESCs, flight controller, gps and transmitter. FPV will also be added. I will be making my initial move in March 2014 with the purchase of either an RTF or a frame and then add as money comes available.

The Streak 1000 combo is located here. http://www.alwarerc.com/shop/streak-1000-octocopter-combo-p-104.html

Just need to add the flight controller, which I am finding, there are so many to chose from depending on what you want it to do.

Are you looking at RTF or complete DIY?

I am looking at building it myself. I will attempt setting up the wkm myself too but if I cannot I will at least put the MR together myself. I will build around the frame just wondering if there is a big enough difference between the frames to justify a 1500ish price difference.

I fly the CC 1000. I like the fact that the booms don't attach to the plates with a clamp. CC uses screws and reinforcing plates and can be folded for transport. I was concerned that a clamp might come loose and then your motor won't be alined. Maybe this isn't a concern, but it was a thought. I would imagine that there is some kind of index to help make sure that when the booms are attached they aline to straight up. Take your time this can be an expensive project.
