First post here-
Not into multi's yet, but I'm very interested because of the many obvious virtues.
The thing that has always scared me about multi's is the 'falling out of the sky' part. I've had a loss of power in my AP heli several times and was able to auto it down safely every time with minimal to no damage, even in a corn field once. Sh1t happens, especially with so much electronics in there. I've had enough of the cheapo esc's go up in flames (1) to know I'm not too excited about hanging a pricey camera from them.
COULD YOU.... build one octo that is really made up of two separate quads, so one complete quad system could fail and the other could 'safely' land it? Say if you used a WKM for one, and a Naza for the other, or WKM for both if you're feeling frisky? It could be either standard octo config or an octo X.
Setup might be tough, but once dialed it it could potentially be a very stable platform, with true redundancy. Of course I know nothing about what I speak. Thoughts?
