Arm tubes are over 1000mm, so this is a perfect "Heavy Lift" setup. (I picked up a brick as an experiment). There are a TON of extra plates and mounts that I paid way more than the price this is selling for to get. Frame is awesome and is created by AGL Hobbies (esky lama v4).

I am thinking of upgrading to TMotor 4014 400 or 330kv motors and have the 21.5mm tubes from rusty in an x8 config.

I'm contemplating.

1. Keeping the 21.5 mm arms in x8 config. (850mm)
2. Keep the 21.5 but switch over to hex 850mm config.
3. Change out to 25mm tubes.
4. Change out to rectangular tubes, not sure what size I should go to.

My AUW weight will go from 12-14 lbs to 16-18lbs. Not a large increase, but there isn't much info out there on the 21.5mm. I am aware that Cinestar and others use the 25mm arms...

Would like to hear from others using the 21.5mm arms in x8 w/ the large motors and 15" props for high end video work.

I have two heavy lift octos. One is 22mm and the other is 25mm. 21.5 mm i'm not familiar with but it should work just fine. I've been lifting 10+ pounds with my 22 mm frame. But I found that its nice to have everything the same size. This way if something needs to be replaced I have only one size to worry about. I am now in the process of upgrading my 22mm frame to 25mm. 25mm will probably be a little stronger than 21.5mm and you don't have to worry about finding less available sizes like 21.5mm. Its also more impressive looking!
