I am new at this but i need some info on a controller.
Eventually i want to use a headset like fat cat but for now i would like to get a controller that i can connect a monitor or tv so i can watch while i am flying.
Is that possible

yes very depends on the model of craft though some drones come with the monitor built into the controller pretty cool

I know some have monitors built in but i was hoping that i could just watch a big screen or monitor while i fly or try to fly. I didnt know if i had to get a certain controllor for an HDMI connection or mod some other controller to do that

yes you certainly can you just a need a fpv camera or any camera connect it to transmitter say fat shark for example then to transmitter on your drone. then you need a receiver and connect it to your tv/ monitor done!
