To Gimbal or not to Gimbal

Looks like a racer amenity is to add a gimbal to the front. Automatic seems like it wouldn't be fitting for the use. BUT, does the three way position on a three way switch make sense?

You won't want to add the weight. Most are spending time reducing weight, not adding. Reduced weight also improves crash resistance.
