The way you heat the cable from top is not good. It takes too long and then all the solger material goes in the cable under the insulation. And it makes the cable stiff in the insulated part also. Cable must be horizontal, not vertical.
By the way the ec5 is more like 50 amp conector. If you need more go for Bullet 5.5 or 6

Thanks for your thoughts , we appreciate very much!
The EC5 connector is for 80AMPS continuous and 120 Burst ! Thats what I read in some magazines!
Ether way , its much better the EC5 than the DEAN plug on the Cinestar !
