What ever your using, it seems to be working for yah.
I have a TBS Discovery as well, using 5.8, thinking of changing.

Thanks Razzil. For video I am using 1.3ghz 850mw with cloverleaf antenna (IBcrazy design). On the ground is a eagle tree diversity with a skewplanar antenna (also IBcrazy) on receiver 1 and a patch on receiver 2. For rc tx/rx i use ezuhf. This combo works great. I don't know the exact range, but have flown at least 5km without slightest hint of signal loss. I used to fly 5.8ghz. Switched not because of range issue but because 1.3ghz can deal with obstacles, such as trees, much better than 5.8ghz.
