Semi crash today, Problems with Photohigher AV200

Hi,

not sure what happened, guess nervousness took control. Lifted of today and tilted to the forward right. Two probs were slightly damaged and i have to exchange them.

The Camera mount also got a punch to some reason and i took it apart to slightly bend it back. After connecting it back to the Ubec and to the Servo signal from the FC the servos start rotating continuously, far from going to neutral position ?

Anybody any thoughts on what could be going on.

Thanks

Boris

I can't say I know anything about those Boris, but don't they separate the motor from the potentiometer? If so, then I would suspect that the pot or it's wiring is suspect.

but i think you are putting me on the right track the potentiometer is the thing to worry about !

Cool! I guess the real question now is why did you crash in the first place? Especially when running a high dollar cam mount.

Did you dumb thumb it or did it not behave?

I cant tell you, i was so nervous. In my eyes i did nothing different than the last couple starts. Next after checking everything will be from someones hands again after testing that it dosen´t want to breakout in any direction.

In the MK tool everything seems to be okay. Gotta use one of these pulse checkers for my next liftoff :)

Or those it make sense like with the helis to extend the landing gear with some boards ?

gona take of the mount anyways for the next flight. Pretty stupid being a beginner and taking off the cam but leaving the mount on which dosent server any use without the cam !

Yea, wire tie some sticks on the bottom. I used my wife's broom stick but don't tell her that.:)

I'd be slapped if I mentioned "wife" and "broom stick" in the same page!!!

I sympathize over the damage.
I have seen a few test-flights that don't make sense... like a test flight of a new "Photohigher" movie stabilized 12S heli with $10k of camera and zoom lens - "because the camera was there". I pointed out that I felt it was an unnecessary risk when any cheap dslr could have done the first flight tests. Money wasn't a problem so he never considered using anything else.

Sometimes a 1kg bag of sand works well in lieu of a camera...

Just my 2c ;)

totally agree Pete it was my stupidity nervousness and one hour daylight left that let me not think and keep the photohigher on. Next test flight will be without. I am just checking the mounts and arms if everything is perfectly horizontal. How crazy does one have to get about them being perfectly horizontal. Eyesight is enough or should one go the road of a laser leveler ?

Thanks

Boris

Most cameras have a grid overlay in the lcd option.
If you use live-view out, put it on a tv so you have a big picture with grid lines :)

crash you set the standards very high with the broom sticks. I will try to take something from my girlfriend to beat that.
Maybe the useless tubing of the bathroom towel radiator in her apartment see never uses. The arguments will be on my side :)

Oh that bites. Hopefully you won't miss the Small World ride in the Magic Kingdom.

If you get the chance to do big people stuff, take a front seat ride on the Hulk coaster at Universal. Do not watch any videos of it ahead of time though.
