I had a GAUI 500 with the Scorpion motors (still have the frame!). I have always been a fan of Scorpion motors in my helis... I have had good luck with them. I ended up buying two additional motors and ESC's and moving all over to a DJI 550 (hex) frame. I have probably 10-12 hrs total time on the motors since moving them to the DJI frame, not sure how many prior to that. They run strong and I have not had any issues with them.
At the end of the day, it is a preference thing I believe.
