Samsung just announced a new 4K camera for less than $800... plus it comes in at less than 400 grams with a 16-50mm lens. Not sure about live HDMI though...

Saw the same announcement and wondered the same thing. I purchased the Lumix LX100 a few months back thinking for under $1000 a 4k machine with built in 1.7 zoom lens it would be great but the not video out killed it for me and I ended up returning it. I'll wait to see a full review of this camera. Rumor is Sony has something coming out soon to compete in this market too.

I'm waiting to see if Panny is going to come out with a GH5 - they're discounting the GH4 and LX100, so there's reason for hope. If they don't, and NX500 has live video out, then that'll be the direction we're going - the specs are amazing on that thing, and the weight is absurd.
