v84x4
Total Noob
Night flight lights......
I thought I would post up for you guys that never got into Scale 4x4 RC
The Scale RC guys are anal about the Scale Look as well as functionality
That being said, The Light Bar of choice for most Scalers is produced by "Gear Head RC" ( www.gearheadrc.com )
IMO,they are the brightest Lights on the market for only using 5v and come nestled in a nice Delrin/aluminum housing
The LEDs are rated at 12,000 mcd each x 13 for a ridiculous 156,000 mcd..........
You cant look at them while flying even in the daylight as you will go blind.......:black_eyed:
Heres my Installation on my F450 (some bench grinding required)
First I used a Bench grinder to grind off one side of the bracket and shape them
for extra pivoting of the light bar (Bracket Sold separately)

Then I removed two of the "F450 Lower Arm" screws (One from each side) and attached the brackets
View attachment 7157
Then I simply screwed the "Gear Head" Light Bar to the brackets and ran the
wire through the chassis & plugged it into my receiver .........

I flew her last night in a near by parking lot and shot her up to the stars through the fog.
In a matter of minutes, I could hear people in the distance saying "Look....Its a UFO"...........lol
I was really suprized how far I could see the Light Bar....It really is Super Bright !!
Future plans are to order 4 of the smaller Gear Head Light Bars and mount them
Vertically, One on each leg
I will try to get some video up soon
Your comments and criticism is welcome
Thanks for looking
Regards, Rick
