Problems entering calibration mode

I'm having problems entering the GPS calibration mode. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Does the control mode channel need to go between specific values? How fast should I flick the control mode switch?

Go from Manual to GPS 7 times decently quick and on the 7th flip leave it in GPS mode position to proceed with the compass calibration.

Make sure you don't have anything on you... Radio, cell phone, keys. Really nothing
