The last video we bring to you here from CES was also the last video we shot at CES – visiting Parrot's booth one floor up from DJI, Hubsan and other prominent drone vendors. We expected to find and put together a quick video about the Bebop: the company's follow-up to the AR Drone.

As I'm sure you've figured out for yourself by now, that isn't what we did. Wandering through their displays (which also included self-watering flower pots and high-tech cell phone accessories), we spotted something that was: 1) much, much cooler, and, 2) which we had never seen before.

While the media and curious onlookers gathered around to watch the Bebop bebopping around, we veered off towards the senseFly display and got a closer look at the eXom: Parrot's foray into professional multirotor platforms, purpose-built to support civil engineering functions such as bridge inspection, and so forth.

As you can see for yourself, it's an elegant ship – and you have to see that sensor head at the front of the aircraft to believe it. It looks like something out of your worst cyberpunk nightmare – and I mean that in the best way possible! It's awesome, and it was so stable when the aircraft pitched and rolled, you could just tell it was a serious machine.

There were a lot of details that Parrot representative Andrea Halter wasn't ready to share quite yet – including the price and the anticipated delivery date – so stay tuned to the company's website for all that...

Next up: the AMA Expo in Ontario, California!
