POSTING VIDEO: DJI Inspire One Handheld Camera Mount with Three-Axis Gimbal at CES 2015

One of the great things about actually traveling to shows like CES – which makes me especially grateful to our travel sponsors: GoProfessional Cases and the Academy of Model Aeronautics – is the opportunity to see things with your own eyes. One such example is the so-new-that-it-doesn't-have-a-name-yet handheld camera gimbal for the Inspire One's camera, from DJI.

There are only six of the prototypes, like you see in the video above, in the world right now. Of course, we do our very best to make our opportunity your opportunity by producing these videos but, unfortunately, there are still limits.

Of course, you can't handle it for yourself and, also, sometimes we can't show you everything that we see for one reason or another. In this case, Michael Perry was reluctant to let us show you the controls on this new unit, because they are not as yet finalized.

One other thing to note is that the DJI booth was packed the whole time we were at CES, with a line out the door for their 3D Phantom experience theater. I mean, they were mobbed – the crowds were always at least two deep around their small flying cage, with people holding up their cell phones to capture videos and photographs of the Inspire One and a Phantom in flight.
