Mikrokopter Position Hold problem

Hi
I have an octo that flys perfectly. All systems are running well with no errors in MK tools. Today I did a test flight as I have a shoot tomorrow and the Position hold is acting up. It will beep and give me the flashing light indicating satellite lock. So I took off and the position hold worked fine. After about 30 seconds though it stopped working and the heli drifted off position. I landed and it was beeping. The gps led was still flashing but if I toggled the postion hold switch to on or come home it would constantly beep.
Any idea's???
The GPS is only about 3 months old so the battery should still be ok.
Its not the end of the world but as I'll be flying some decent ranges tomorrow I would feel safer having "coming home" working.
Thanks

I went out again today for the shoot and the first 5 min the PH and CH worked perfectly. Then for no apparent reason it just stops working and starts beeping. Telemetry was showing 12 satellite fixes.
Shoot went really well so no drama but I would feel safer if I knew I could rely on the CH.

Any idea's

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
take a look at the two ribbon cables from the FC to the Navi. i've had them come loose and cause problems. a bead of hot glue across the joint holds the plugs against the boards well enough that you'll have to cut through the glue to get the plugs off.

also, do you have an SD card in? when the cards get full they have been known to cause Navi problems.

good luck with it,

Hi Bart

I flew yesterday and still had the same issue. I took out the SD card from the TX and both ribbon cables are snug.

The SD card I was referring to is the Micro SD card in the MK Navi board. If you've got intermittent GPS reception then I'd try replacing the molex cable between the Navi and GPS boards (i had one come apart on me), I'd make sure the battery is snug in its little holder, I'd check the GPS board to make sure the receiver is not loose on the board, then just closely inspect everything looking for an errant blob of solder or something. If everything checks then you'd probably have to try a new Navi, GPS, or both.
