POI problems

Maybe I just can't interpret the manual. But I can't seem to get POI working on my WKM, latest FW installed 2 days ago.

I set it to control 2.

Assigned a 3 position switch, and it shows correctly in the Assistant SW when switching modes.

However when flying the course lock works fine. But I was unable to program the point yesterday in my testing. I had more than 6 GPS sats and I ws in GPS mode. I flicked from course lock to POI 3-5 times as I understand the manual to instruct. Then I backed away but the S800 would not circle the POI pointing in at it. I did get the rapid green light when I programmed the point. I tried switching to course lock and back to POI, but it still did not work.

I tried several different points at varying distances from my "take off home spot". Up to 100' away.

I must be doing something wrong, any suggestion or improvements on the manuals instructions would be greatly appreciated. I am sure I am doing something incorrectly.

Hi Olof,

sorry if I am stating the obvious but you have to command the bird with the roll stick to proceed on the circle around the object. you are doing that ? or

In POI (POI, Point Of Interest) flying, the roll channel controls the multi rotor circular flight speedaround a fixed point, the pitch channel is used for controlling the diameter around the fixed point, thethrottle is used to control the height around the fixed point. See the following chart (Tx Mode 2):

BorisS, yes I am trying to use the roll (ailerons) control to circle, both speed and direction, I should be able to circle clockwise or counter clockwise as I understand it. And I use the pitch (elevator) to change the diameter. And the throttle channel should control your elevation as usual.

When I tried the first time it didn't work either, the next time it suddenly did work as advertised.

You already do it correctly, I think:
- when setting the POI, the green light must flash a couple of times
- when switching to POI mode, the copter must turn (yaw) towards the POI
- then you can control it exactly as you assumed

I had similar issues the first time. But later I tried it again.....
a) flipped switch multiple times under the green led flashed rapidly.
b) put the switch in the IOC off position
c) Moved the MR about 70 feet away from the POI point
d) Flipped switch into POI mode

Immediately the MR rotated toward the POI... then I was able to work the sticks to adjust radius and speed so that the MR could rotate around the POI always with the camera pointed at the POI..... works quite well.
