You aren't seriously going to let this setback stop you, are you? You only learned what NOT to do. Just another step in the learning curve.

REBUILD IT man!

LOL

Yes your right

I did rebuild it kind of. I used all teh parts for a BlueskyRC FPV quad instead!!

I have also just got around to building up the frame from teh original idea of this thread!

The V Tail Quad is now being built.

Specs are as follows

1/8 laser cut aircraft ply
Full vibration isolation (hopefully)
All arms are isolated from main frame via 2mm Silicone gel tape
The Camera mount and electronic platform is also isolated rom teh main frame via 2mm silicone gel tape.
Carbon arms are folding

Rear V tail motor mount needs to be rebuilt its far to wide and heavy.
Need to find some small 10mm aluminium channel some where.

Front motors are RCT 2830 750Kv spinning 10x4.7 Props
Rear Motors are RCT 2830 1000Kv spinning 8x4 props

FC is CopterControl

Build is going slow at the moment but i have 90% of teh parts i need to complete it just need to pull my finger out!

My BluseSky FPV quad is absorbing all my attention at the moment.

Check out the pictures and let me know what you think?

Cheers

Ben

Hmm, No expert opinion here but I cannot help feeling that those two motors on the V-Tail are liable to flap around a bit on that not particularly rigid ally plate. Perhaps there is some stiffening underneath that is not visible in the pics.

Hi Mombasa

The ali plate show in teh pictures is plenty stiff i think its 2mm thick!

The problem is its too wide and heavy. I want to replace it with some 10mm alumninum channel.

I am more concerned about the actual carbon boom twisting than the aluminium plates twisting.

I may shorten them all down 100mm or so. Nothing is permanantly fixed yet.

Cheers

Ben
