Pixhawk connectors

I had 3Drobotics to send me 2 cables for the ublox gps and the connector end that plugs into the pixhawk is a 5 pin and pixhawk is a 6 pin. The cable that broke is a 6 pin. Am I missing something here?

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Chalagi, it sounds like your received the wrong cable. the cable that broke was 6-pin on both ends? i think the GPS unit also has solder pads so you can maybe use the good 6-pin side to plug into the pixhawk and then solder the bad end directly to the GPS unit......

I might be wrong but it's worth taking a look to see if you can do this

Well on the pixhawk ans ublox gps they are both 6 pin and why they sent me a 5 pin connector I have no clue. And they kne I had they pixhawk and ublox gps also. Nothing wrong with the plugins on either the pixhawk or gps.

I read somewhere, (soooo much reading, I forget) that you can plug in a second GPS to the Pixhawk, and set it up to use/switch to which ever GPS has the most satellites. I bought a Ublox Neo6m GPS puck, and it came with a 5 pin connector. I've been looking at wiring diagrams, to try to figure out how to wire it up. I can remove the 5 pin connector, and put the wires back in to a 6 pin connector, just want to be sure what's what. I also have a clone APM 2.6 controller, and it has a 5 pin GPS connector.

Well I"m also running a GPS on my OSD but that would not help. I dug through my box of stuff and found another 6 pin to 6 pin connector maybe it will work. This pixhawk has been a real pain in the ass every since I got it installed. Today I had to try over and over to get the 3DR radios to work. So I finally deleted my mission planner and then re-installed the MP. Now my radios are working so I gotten redo some of the other things to "HOPEFULLLY" get this hexa into the air.

Here is part of the description of the 3DR GPS puck I ordered. Notice they mention BOTH a 5 pin and a 6 pin connector.

"GPS with Compass moduleProtective caseFour-position cable (compass)Five-position-to-six-position cable (GPS) for APM or PX4Pixhawk users will find a six-position cable included with the Pixhawk kit to connect the GPS with Compass module to Pixhawk."

It's ok.
You can connect 6 pin side to GPS and 5 pin one to PH (to the left side). Or you can use 6 pin cable from Pixhawk kit.
