Phantom w/ GoPro low-voltage warning after 60sec...

Hello all, I was wondering if someone has had a similar experience and if there is anything to be done. When I fly the Phantom hard without the GoPro attached I get about 6min of flight time. Cool temperatures and flying at 8'200' so no surprise there. However, when I attached the GoPro 3 my flight times are between 30sec and 60sec before I get low-voltage warnings. I've tried it with 5 different batteries with same results, they were all fully charged. Anybody have the same problems...? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Wow never heard that before is the gopro being powered from the phantom and even if it is there should not do that , only thing I could think of of the top of my head is bad battery ( 1 low cell) but you said yer battery's are good . I'm stumped I will ask the guys at the club to see what they think and get back to you

Hey Jake! Thanks so much for looking into it! The gopro isn't powered by the phantom... Would you mind sharing what your settings are for low voltage protection in the software? I looked everywhere and couldn't find a specific answer... Thanks again!

Shoot I never looked for that either I never touched it other than stock but I will look it has me bugged now :) I will check to see what I can find so you get back up in the air honestly if someone else said what you said about the light i would tell them it was the battery just for grins do you have a small battery / alarm checker cause it will tell the voltage of the battery and each cell i had a charger that would tell me the battery was fully charged but it was not even close it had a bad cell it would charge but one cell was way off the only other thing i could recomend is to balance the battery and charge it and see if you get the results you did the smartest thing by trying several batteries to see what the results were ? i do get a red light when i go full throttle and i will get one light and back to green but i have run it for 6 minutes George

You know, I have 6 batteries and they're all brand new and charge up to 12.45v every time. But, I did a bunch more checking and I think I figured it out. I believe the settings in the software for the low voltage protection are way to conservative. After flying it without camera for 6 min I get the alarm, however my charger tells me it only replaced about 800mah back into the battery. I then changed the settings to No Load 11.15v Loss 1.00 which nearly doubled my flight time. mah replaced was about 1700 or roughly 80% of capacity. Will have to see how long it'll do with camera, haven't been able to try it out as it's raining here...stay tuned :)
