Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Hi everyone,
I recently built a heavy lift Oktokopter using chinese ESC's (ExceedRC) and a power ring built from 10 and 16 AWG wire including two independent battery connections. It flies great but not quite as perfect as my original MK Okto 2 did. I'm trying to get perfect video using a combination of modifications but the helicopter just isn't playing along. If someone would like to take this power set-up and have a go at making it work better, and if I could generate some cash from the time it took to build, I'd consider selling it. See pics in this thread, posts 89 and 90

This set-up easily flies well enough for solid photography work but it's got a very minor twitch that is just enough to spoil the video (at least in my eyes).

PM me if you're interested. The ESC's are brand new and worth about $115 retail plus I'll include the I2C converter. The whole set-up has about 6 flights on it ranging from 4 to 8 minutes.

I don't have a lot of time to keep experimenting with different settings and such. I just need things to work as well as my first MK did, as soon as possible.

If it doesn't sell it's all going on an MK based XL Hexa as a dedicated photography heli.

Thanks!
Bart

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
i have two choices, i can replace the ExceedRC ESC's with a different chinese ESC or I can just go back to an MK power dist. board and BL's. I've gone ahead and asked quadrocopter.us to build an MK Okto XL power board for me using the 8 ver 2.0 BL's from my first MK. I need the best I can get ASAP and I just don't have any time to keep experimenting with non-MK stuff as much as I'd like to.
If I sell this stuff, great, it'll give someone a good start. If not, it'll go in something else at a later time.
Cheers!

wow,
performs much better with the timing set to high. MK stuff is on its way though so this will be a good set-up for a dedicated photo-Hexa in the coming months. i guess I should close this thread now!
