20th – 24th AUGUST 2012
NOTIFICATION OF GPS JAMMING EXERCISE AT SENNYBRIDGE
An urgent GPS Jamming exercise will take place at Sennybridge (EGD203) as detailed below:
a. Dates: Between 20 and 24 August 2012.
b. Times: 0800 -1700 GMT.
c. Location of MULTIPLE jammers: Land based within 5km of N52° 02.0’ W003° 36.5’.
d. Frequency: A 24 MHz band centred around 1575.42MHz (GPS L1).
e. Total Power: Up to 4 Watts EIRP.
f. Jammers: Directional jammers radiating CW, BPSK and noise modulation.
g. Worst case areas of effect are shown in Annex A and are detailed below:
Against a receiver tracking L1 C/A-Code GPS signals:
2m AGL From N52° 02.0’ W003° 36.5’ to:
Areas with clear line of sign to the transmitter within 7km.
5,000ft AMSL From N52° 02.0’ W003° 36.5’ to:
25 NM in an arc clockwise between 135°T and 255°T.
7 NM in all other directions.
40,000ft AMSL From N52° 02.0’ W003° 36.5’ to:
32 NM in an arc clockwise between 135°T and 255°T.
7 NM in all other directions.
2. The jamming trial will be managed by Dstl.

Unfortunately this is very short notice for operational reasons so there will not be an AIC but a NOTAM will go out later today (14th August 2012).
