New Tx - existing multirotor

I have an SRD260pro that came with a walkera devo 7 Tx.
I've ordered a taranis xd9 plus & an X8R Rx.

I need to know the exact steps to set it up.

Obviously,I need to install the new Rx.

Then bind the Tx to the Rx?

What about other settings?
Like expos, gaina, rates & other things I'm not aware of.

Do they need to be setup again?
I imagine those settings are recorded on the cc3d flight controller?

Thanks guys.

Here's a video of the srd260Pro's maiden flight:

The settings you mention definitely need to be set up in the radio. You'll also need to bind the tx and Rx in the mode you want to use. If it's the X8R there are 5 different modes you can use (standard connection, sbus etc).

The Taranis has some really powerful programming that can be done in the computer - making it really robust in terms of setup. But it's different than your current (and most) radio.

I would suggest taking some time to check out some videos/tutorials. There are also models that you can download that would probably be perfect start for your FC.

What are the differences among modes?
Is mode type dependent on flight controller type?

Why would I need to setup those settings I the Rx?
Isn't the flight controller supposed to be custodian of the profile?

After what? Binding? If so, no. The bind procedure doesn't change anything about the model or radio setup.

Setting up the vehicle - I'd take a look at some of Scott Paige videos. Very helpful. If you've done it already, then no need :)

I mean, would I need to run the vehicle setup & transmitter setup subsequent to binding tc to rx?
I'm as noob in this aspect.

I'm not sure which setups you are referring to. If you mean that you have already done the internal Taranis stick calibration, assigned a model (with channel outputs, expos, name of model, voice alerts etc) then no. The bind procedure doesn't effect that.

In fact, to make it more plain. Regardless of what you have, or have not done so far...binding the radio to the receiver will not effect anything at all, except to allow the radio to speak to the receiver.

After binding, I'll need to add the quad profile to the Tx.
I'll create a new entry, name it, then will I need to carry out other settings like rates, expo & so on?
I'm not familiar with adding a new entry.
The taranis manual doesn't explain the other bits.

You can do those things before, or after.

If you are really new to the Taranis - i suggest taking a look at the videos that R. Scott Page has on YouTube. His channel is chock full of basic info.

Also, if you hit any snags that you can't find the answers to here, there is a site hosted by the creators of OpenTx: http://open-txu.org

You don't have it yet??? If not, peruse the videos - and get familiar. Then it will all be easier when you have it in front of you.
