what's up "rc nerds"? **that was the "witty" comment | i don't really mean it**
i am fairly new to the uav/drone community. i've been flying for about three months. i started on a blade 180QX and then moved to the phantom and now i am totally geeking out on everything "aerial". as of now i have a total of 125 flights and just over 26 hours. i know just enough to know that until about two days ago i really had no understanding of lipo batteries which probably should have lead to my house burning down by now.
i work in the movie industry and have a collegue that purchased a freely systems "movie m10". he asked me to be the gimbal pilot since i had rc experience as a teenager and i began using the DX8 to control the movi's gimbal system. it did not take long for me to learn that i could control my 180QX with the DX8 and that is the point i realized the implications that uav's are going to have in my line of work.
i bought a used phantom 1 and completly tore it apart and rebuilt it with all the tech i could squeeze into its shell. now i am moving on to an s800 type of platform in order to eventually carry larger sensor platforms.
nice to meet you! i'm rob.
