Need help *removing* TBS Discovery core :-(

Bought a tbs disco with the core installed. but, well, uhm, i dropped a big glob of molten solder on it and crapped the whole thing up, and then, for good measure, i went ahead and melted the plastic vtx connector next to it. Yeah, yeah, I'm an idiot. In any event, I've built the rest of the quad and don't think i ought to power it up before getting rid of the core. so ... what do i need to do to remove it and/or make sure it doesn't interfere with the rest of the build? thanks for any help you can offer!

take a small set of wire cutters and trim each link from core to board till it pops off, then heat each one of them pins left behind and remove them. if solder is left behind, heat and tap lightly to knock it off the frame or you can use a desolder wick like they sell for this.

snipped and wicked. half the pin holes are empty now, the rest have tiny bits of solder in them, but nothing on the outside, so i guess that's okay. i'm still nervous about connecting the battery up. should i be?

it smokes the pcb if you miss anything, and that's your frame

The worse part is continuity test don't make since cause of the current sensor back feeds.

i'm trying to get a handle on what i'm trying to avoid. what i *don't* want is for any of the pin holes to be connected to any other pin hole. right?

edit: okay, i went back and redoubled my efforts and was able to remove all solder from the holes.

working on the no guts no glory theory, i then hooked up the battery and calibrated all the escs to the throttle on my 8FGS ... and nothing started belching fire or acting weird. can i assume from that that i've removed the core successfully and no longer have to worry about smoking the pcb?
