MAJOR power / RPM issue with f550 during flight...HELP!

First off, thank you to all who have been very helpful with my previous posts!

I've got a professinally built f550 with the following:

NAZA-M V2

Heavy lift- T-Motor MN3510-13 KV700 x6, TMOTOR Carbon 12-4 x6

Zenmuse H3-2D

Gaui Vision 100 5.8ghz

Pulse 6600mAh

Naza M V2 Settings:

Pitch Roll Yaw Vertical

Basic 115 110 105 105

Atti 62 62

When Battery Protection is on:

4S Lipo (calibrated)

First Level:

No Load 14.8 Loss 0.60 Loaded 14.20

Second Level:

No Load 14.0 Loss 0.60 Loaded 13.4

The issue is that of a significant drop in power (motor RPM) in
Atti or GPS mode only that makes it nearly drop from
the sky. It's recoverable, but I need to punch the throttle to keep it from
hitting the ground. It otherwise functions perfectly in manual mode. The
battery is NEW and CHARGED. The tx sticks are calibrated, the advanced and
basic calibration are both completed. The compass calibration is done before
flight.

This major loss in RPM occurs generally around mid-stick while trying to find
a hover position. If the aircraft is climbing rapidly, it does not occur. As
soon as I level off (in Att or GPS only) it loses RPM and needs a rapid "punch"
of RPM to stay airborn. It's as if there was a loss of throttle signal.

Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I haven't a clue but, just curious, when you are in the assistant and looking at the transmitter inputs can you see any blips when you move the throttle in those two modes?

Not sure what you mean by "blips". ?? Do you mean some kind of interferance or flashing of the pointer on the throttle scale?

stick calibration on throttle may be off a bit. in either of those modes, throttle stick commands, centered hover, above center climb, below center descend. the further from center the quicker the climb/descend rate.
make sure that the assistant shows the throttle in center when you have the stick centered.

By "blips" what I meant was when you move the throttle stick smoothly, the graphical representation on the screen in Assistant should move smoothly too to match your stick input and not jump around. :)

From what I've worked with and had issues with your Gain settings seem really low to me. I fly a similar bird with the following settings.

My F550 has the new aluminum arms that extend the size to 650.

No or little wind:

140 140 120 140
120 120
I will also use these CF props 12x4.5

Moderate to heavy winds
180 180 150 180
150 150
I will also use these CF props 11x6

I wish. I've swapped out all the components. I'm really disappointed that it didn't work out. I have no magic bullet as of yet. Have you tried swapping out your controller?

What type of TX are you using? Everyone is looking at the aircraft, but I am curious how the radio is set up. Could it have dual rates or expo set up on the same switch you use to go from GPS to ATTI to Manual ? I have a similiar set up without the heavy lift and it works fine with the stock gains. I am using a 14SG Futaba TX.

Thanks for the thoughts, Craig!

I swaped both the RX and tx without any changes. I have a new sat ant to try. Ill let you know how that goes!

If it does it in both GPS and Atti mode changing out the Sat antenna wont make a difference. Its something in the settings either on the Radio Transmitter or in the Naza. What transmitter are you using ?? Futaba, JR, Spektrum ???

Hi,
Not sure if I can help plus Maybe you already figure out your problems, but anyway this is what I think is your problem :
1. your gain for 550 is in manual book on page 8
Basic Gain
pitch 170 roll 170 yaw 150 vertical 140
Attitude gain
Pitch 170 Roll 170

if you machine is more heavy them 1,5 kg increce each value by 10

2. in Assistant software is section with ADVANCED setup - motor
set this to intelligent and not recommended but one up ( not High )

and one more thing i find which is very much useless is Voltage protecton switch! why? Because if is triger and your machine is over water is nothing you can do, because copter will be land in water. I thing is much better keep fly back home (and in worth demage battery, likely if happen onece- will not much happen to batery) them lost full copter :) hope you understand my English :0 good luck and happy fly :) cheers milansteadicam
