Lubricating motors...?

I saw someone mention adding lube to the bearings on their motors. Does everyone do this? I've had some weird issues that lead me to believe I'm loosing several motors... could this be the result of not lubricating them?

In normal usage there should be no need. In high load continuous usage then a small amount of machine oil wouldn't go astray, but only a small amount. You may not be able to get it past the bearing seals if the bearings have them installed that it? There is a possibility that the machine oil may not be compatible and will wash out the prepackaged lubrication within the bearing already.

Cheers

Thanks Marc_macd... Then perhaps a more to-the-point question: What do you know of that can cause a motor or several motors? In other words, under what circumstances do you need to replace one?
