Locating Lost Phantom With GPS

So I have been trying to research about finding your lost Phantom with a GPS tracker. Awesome. Need that. In fact, going to put this on before I even purchase the GoPro, POV system, etc. Might as well have a way to find it before I put more stuff on it.

My question is, which one are you guys using??

The TK102B seems to be mentioned the most. Is this the one?

-Is this very reliable?
-Is there a magnet that would need to be removed?
-My other (and main) question I had about the TK102B is regarding the SIM card you would need to put inside of it. I have a CDMA phone without a SIM card so I would have to purchase one. But I'm not sure how... Someone somewhere mentioned TracPhone, but then someone else posted that they "lock" the SIM card to the TracPhone only? How do you pick up a SIM cardthat could be transferred to the tracker that you can call on if needed? I'm sure it would be some type of pay-as-you-go plan, but which one??

Thanks for your advice!

I use garmin gtu 10 and the battery life is 10 days compared to 2 days of the unit you mention which i also have.
Garmin gps is able to get a fix even indoors. Also the app on the iphone is usable.

There is no app for the tk102

Hey thanks!

Maybe I'll spring for the Garmin for an extra $75 or so... that way I could also avoid having to do the whole GSM SIM card thing as well.

How did you affix it to the quadcopter?

Also mercer2,

Just looking at a quick eBay listing, I see that it includes tracking for one year (unlimited/all features?). Do you know what the cost is after the 1st yr?

I wonder how this affects the usable range with a 2.4 transmitter and 5.8 video.

Has anyone tried to compare with and without the tracker?
