Lipo Battery Failure - Under Warranty?

Hope someone can advise me of where i stand.

I recently bought a DJI Phantom from Quadcopters.co.uk back in July and was very happy with the product.

I've only flown the QC about 5 times in total. After each flight Ive recharged the battery and left it stored in a safe dry place within its fireproof bag.

Battery has been left for no more than a month unused, and havent had an issue until now.

I came to fly my QC but the power was down on the battery, which i thought strange as i know i had fully charged it prior to storing it.

Connected it to the charger provided with the copter, but it showed a fault, illuminating a flashing light under 1S.

Contacted quadcopters.co.uk thinking it was a charger fault, only to be told it sounds more like the battery, but unfortunately there is only a 3 month warranty on batteries they say, however they do sell upgraded batteries for under £20

Now my question is, where do i stand consumer wise with this?
I tested the battery and 1 cell is completely dead whilst the other 2 remain almost fully charged, which indicates to me a battery failure.

After only 5 flights and less than 6 months old, am i within my rights to request a new battery FOC?

Am i being taken for an idiot with this 3 month warranty claim by quadcopters.co.uk or do i just accept as an unlucky experience and hope that my next battery lasts a bit longer than 5 months?

Any advice/pointers would be much appreciated.

Sadly I think your storage of the Lipo's has done the damage I'm sorry to have to inform you.
Lipo's should be stored with approx 50%-60% charge (no more) not fully charged. Storing them fully charged damages their chemistry. Basically the chemistry degrades if left fully charged.
There are many good articles on Lipo battery care & management, I think there is a sticky on this forum just haven't the time to find it for you, but Google will turn up many articles on this subject

Im with the others on this I'm afraid. Poor storage conditions have malkied the cell in my opinion.
