KK2.1.5 Board And Taranis TX/X8R RX - A Little Help

I have bound the X8R RX with the Taranis TX, hooked up all the servo wires from KK2 board to the RX. I turn on the Taranis TX and get a green light on the X8R RX. No power to the motors when I move stick up. The motors do twitch when I turn TX on.

Any ideas

Thanks

Have you gone through the settings on the KK2 board and made sure they all go the correct direction, then set your gains, then armed the board, did you set the MR type?

Yes I set the X configuration and direction of motors up. I did not mess with the gains. It still will not arm if I turn on TX first and then the Quad. I do get a solid green light on RX. No errors or beeps on main screen of KK2.

Does it matter in what order you hook up the RX cables to the KK2 board? I have the Taranis X8R RX.

Well yes it matters a lot. Do the on screen indicators move when you adjust your sticks?

I found out that I had the servo wires hooked up wrong. Once I straightened out the order of the wires from KK 2 board to the RX, I was able to Arm the KK 2 board. But I still needed to set the TX Sticks in the right order. i then set the motor configuration and direction of motors. I set up the duel rates and Expo for the Rudder, Elevator and Ailerons.

Everything seems to work fine but I think I need to calibrate the ESC. On this build I am using the QBrain. I will be looking for a video now on how to calibrate the QBrain.

Thank you Pete

I found the video on calibrating the Q-Brain ESC's. Quite simple.

Now I need to find out how to set up the Taranis Aux channel for the KK Board Self Leveling. I don't know yet where to look to set this up on the Taranis. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Pete

genesc, i have the same problems as you. well the same and then a little different. i also have a taranis and an x8r. i am using the kk2 HC 2.1.5. i have connected everything right. however no power to motors and esc's beep when i go into menu part of the board. when i do receiver check it shows that it all works and i have proper stick configuration. then i tried calibrating the escs. the normal kk2 calibration procedure does not work for me on the HC kk2. after i tried it a couple time no luck. it got even worse. after it my throttle was stuck at 44. then i tried doing acc and it wouldnt work because z axis was not ok when it was perfectly flat. lastly, if you figure out how to use the aux on the taranis then le me know because there is no info on how to do it and i am still toying with it. please help lol total noob here. :)

Do you live in the USA? PM Sent

If so I think I can help you. There are videos for the proper order of things but they need to be Taranis/X8R/KK2/QBrain board specific.

I had my first test flight this morning when the there was no wind. I took off and hovered 4 times. Managed to maneuver out in front of me and back. Had 2 safe landings and 2 bad ones. I broke two props and the battery came loose on last landing. I found that when I was hovering that it would drift back to me slowly. I made trim corrections which worked fine. But I think I need to put a negative in the KK 2 board settings somewhere. Will have to find a video on where and how to do that.

This was my first time flying a larger quad and boy was I nervous...:) Tomorrow morning I will try again and hopefully find the right place to change a setting in KK 2 board to correct the rearward drifting.

I had a great sense of accomplishment and all I can say is if you have not flown a quad before then buy yourself a mini quad for cheap and practice, practice, practice. It will make flying the bigger quads a lot easier.
