Jumped right in from Down Under (Australia)

Hi All,
I have just jumped in with both feet and ordered a DJI F450, Naza V2 GPS and Specktrum DX8 ready fro my Christmas present.
I will build it up further with a gopro on a gimble and FPV.
This is just for fun nothing serious. I got the 450 because if i want to upgrade it to the 550 then it is not too hard.
I still need batteries and a charger. Any advice (size and brand)
I live in South East Victoria Australia near some beautiful country, mountains and not far from the ocean.
Be gentle on me this is my first forte into RC flying things.

Regards

Welcome Crispy :frog:
This hobby can be addictive and expensive and soooo much fun. The 450 is a great place to start (mine just recently morphed into a TBS Discovery Pro) just remember to stay safe and fly as if the props may fall off at any moment hehe. The best tip I can give you though is to spend every spare hour infront of a decent simulator - develop the reflexes (and crash heaps) before hitting the sky for real.
As for batteries, Hobby King has a warehouse in NSW and the prices are great (Ok, arguably there are better products out there but these are easy to source).

Have fun :)

Thanks Charles.
Do the simulators use the Tx gear via cable to the PC? What simulators might there be available.
Watching many youtube videos and trying to learn stuff.

Hey guys,

Another Disco Pro in Canberra, cool, come and have a fly with us. Where are you flying? A few of us get together on the north side most Sunday mornings and I fly helis at the Namagi Club at Williamsdale. Not so sunny here last weekend with 10 inches of snow on the hills.

Phoenix has a quad that is very easy to fly, not quite the same as a real quad but still good training for your thumbs.
