How to Hack your GoPro Hero 3 for FPV

Hi all,

I'm new here, so I figure I had better contribute a bit before I start asking my own questions. I just made this little video yesterday. The new GoPro Hero 3 is a great camera, but they changed the component video output from a 2.5mm jack to a mini USB connection. In order to get the video signal to your FPV transmitter you must soldier the video wire of the USB component cable to a wire that goes into your transmitter. It's a simple process and this video shows you how to do it in about 5 minutes.

If you mean the case around the GoPro that is from GoPro. Its call The Frame. As yet they do not make the full case with the cutouts like they did with the Hero2 Skeleton Case. So the camera is basically totally exposed. No lens protection etc. Hoping they come out with the Skeleton case for the GP3.

This case can be bought at a bunch of places like Quadrocopter... For lense coverage watch a few places like getfpv that currently have the Hero1/2 lense protectors.

I hear they are working on the GoPro3 version

For $10 more you can just get a replacement case and cut a hole in it. Now you have protection.

Thanks a lot...this vid was very helpful...I don't have a GoPro, but had a similar problem with my Flycamone 1080 HD...this vid solved it .....BINGO
