How difficult is the setup?

Hello;
I'm new to the multi-rotor world and am wondering how difficult it is to set up the WKM for a DJI F550.
Thanks!

difficult is relative ! How much RC experience do you have? or any other thats directs into this field. Eventually soldering it the most important, but if your question is directed towards only setuping up a WKM in the Assistant its pretty easy.

I have a fair amount of experience in the world of RC. Was just curious about the WKM. I've seen the assistant in action. I'm sure I'll be fine. I just wanted to hear other people's opinion about the setup to identify any caveats, that's all.
Thanks!

Just read the manual twice and you are good to go. Any questions you have just post them here. One of the helpful and knowledgeable people here will assist.

Awesome. I'm reading the manual now on the WKM. I'm in computers, so all this seems straight-forward. Else I'll just post questions here.
I love this community!
Thanks so much.

some things to get an understanding of

in the location screen where you put the measurements in for where everything is can be tricky. make sure + and - values are right. red vs. green...... the closer you get all that and the better you understand calibrating it the better off you are in the wkm setup part. other than that gains make a difference if she wants to nose over in manual versus hop straight up,,, along with cg of course

those bone stock 550 seem to like a pretty high gain, like 140-160 manual........ more weight you put on it the less that is an issue. read the manual about the gains and go give it a shot.

if you put the gain on a knob, lower the end points of that channel so it moves the gain just a little, don't let it go from 50 - 300,,,, make endpoints like +10 - 10, move the knob to zero and enter the gain number assigned to the knob to the middle, lets call it 150,,, hit write till the text isn't red and move the knob to see how far it sweeps. the worse thing i've seen is too low of gain. too high it just shakes, too low it falls off plane and shoots off, hard to control

Agree with Kloner, They are pretty easy to setup and fly, It was my first setup and there is plenty of help on here as well as the odd video if needed. + - Values on COG (Center of Gravity) are a must to check and the gains are as Kloner explained. I went for the WKM rather than the Nexa only because at the time there was no GPS but MOST if all I couldnt afford to buy two so brought the WKM so I could upgrade the frame as and when I wanted.. Only my choice the Nexa is a great unit. O and buy some different props groupners 10" LOVELY!
