Hoverfly Hoverfly Gimbal Controller

I never mounted this card on a servo gimbal, so I was wondering if it can be used on a brushless one now. If so has anyone had good results with a NEX 7, and what gimbal.
Thanks very much

yup, sleepy beat me to it. Hoverfly has said they're developing a brushless controller but so far we haven't seen it.

the GIMBAL works really well but it needs to be on a servo driven mount.

ok thanks for the fast responses guys, do you think it's better to get a brushless and get rid of the HF board, or pick up a used AV130 on ebay and utilize the gimbal contrl.

Man that’s a good question. The brushless stuff is really nice when it works, but it is so finiky.

Try to find good footage of a brushless gimbal that is 20 - 40 seconds long with no post stabilization.
There are a few gimbals that are working well, and they are the larger ones or the tiny gopro ones.

The servo/belt stuff was not perfect, but it did provide very nice results and was not finicky.
You tuned it and it worked. I am experiencing situations where just changing a prop throws off the brushless gimbal.

Answer the question "Why" and the rest will fall into place. You said elsewhere that you want to shoot nice photos for your wife's real estate office and, for that, the AV130 will work great but so will the gimbal control that is built into most of the flight controllers. Photography is easy, for the most part.

Video is much much harder and the tools you'll need will be harder to come by and even if you could write a check it would still elude you for a certain amount of time.

I'll take that Gimbal controller if you want to sell it but you've got to hand deliver it!

good info SleepyC thanks again.
And good memory Bart! thanks very much

which flight controller did the AD8 come with? If it's a WKM then you might be better off with the GIMBAL but photography is so different from video I'd give the WKM a chance before going through the trouble of mounting the Gimbal.

Since you have an octo though, I think your wookong wont have any gimbal outputs since they are used for motors 7/8. I have a low hour y6 with Av130 i am trying to sell if interested.

Thank you Yuri,
I almost bought that aircraft a month or so ago, I will keep it in mind.

ahhh, that's right. octo and WKM means no camera outputs.

thanks for the reminder. :)
