The moniker says it all for me.
I have never flown one of these quadraturkeys, but i am going to... period.
From my extensive research over a couple of days
here is what I think I know about quads;
• under all is the frame
• the frame holds four motors
• the motors each have a propeller mounted
• the motors are controlled by a central electronic device (ESC?)
• a receiver is attached to the ESC to process the pilot's instructions
• the ESC may have a gyro hung off it
• at the high end the ESC may also have a GPS device attached
• a battery is slung somewhere to power the device
• additionally, photo or video equipment may be attached to the frame by some gimbaled device
• optimally the video gear transmits real-time to a ground receiver for instant feedback (FPV or not)
• then, of course, a transmitter to communicate the pilot's wishes to the quadbeast
• lastly a method to control and point the video gear
I did visit the Dragonfly website and specked out a ready to fly quad inclusive controller and video up/down link which came to 10 grand.
cough, cough.
Ima havta pare that down to 2 or 3k max.
Is that doable?
I am thinking of the DJI F450 Naza at the moment.
