Hi to you all

I am a brand new, but old, figure that out if you can. I have a DJI 2 with the usual bits attached. The reason I have joined the forum is for advice, and I will pose the questions later. This quad is an extension of my main hobby videography which I have done for many many years. I have only flown twice but really enjoyed, but also I found it to be quite nerve racking. But the most important thing is it is still in one piece. Anyway that is enough for know. I look forward to contacting all of you very experienced flyers in the future..
Thanks Denzil

Welcome Denzil, there is a lot of information on DJI products. Please familiarize yourself with the forum and learn how to do searches to get the most out of our extensive information. Looking forward to your questions for advice.

Hi Denzil, keep flying and you'll get used to it. Don't worry about crashing, but make plans in your head where you can crash safely each flight, just in case.

Thanks to you both for the welcome and the advise. The most important thing to me is that I do it legally. This morning I have been to a flying field (you know what I mean) with the intention of joining. But this club has a waiting list so I will have to be patient. It looks on the surface to be a very well run club and the members a very informative. This seem to be a good way to start. I await their joining details if I am lucky enough to be accepted.
Thanks Denzil

Hi Mojave I will be coming to Vegas next year. What are the laws about flying Phantoms with cameras attached as I want to fly my quad in your parks, Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley, etc can I legally do this. Obviously the towns and cities are out of bounds, am I correct. Or please guide me to your legislation covering this if you can. I know you limits are different to ours, ie your flight height is 800 foot where as ours is 40 feet. Thanks Denzil

I do not fly in parks like you have listed. I keep a low profile and go to areas that are away from people: to perfect my skill and these are the areas that interest me at the moment. Tahoe Ed; can you answer any of Denzil's questions? Currently it is a 400 feet ceiling not 800. This may change for sUAS when the FAA comes out with new rules in 2015.

Majave I am the same a you, keeping a low profile, but when I come to Vegas these are the places I would like to fly. Any information would be gratefully received. So your flying height is the same as the UK. I read somewhere that 800 is the USA.
I am aware that this is a beginners page, and this is the first ever forum I have ever used. Should I/we take this to another page. Denzil

This thread is listed with all of the other active threads. You are welcome to start another thread if you wish: maybe others can share their experiences. Good luck to you.
