Hi there,

I'm a new member on here, looking to break into doing aerial photography and video.

I've been RC flying on and off for 27 years now. Designed and built my own G10/alu quad with stabilised GoPro mount & fitted with DJI Wookong M. Now working on a hexa with AXI motors to lift a Canon 550D.

Has anyone here been on the BNUC-S course? It seems to be a crazy price, is it worth the big hole in the pocket.

Also does anyone know if the BMFA A/B route still open?

Cheers

Hi Rob,
BMFA route is no longer an option. BMFA want give commercial UAS a wide berth.
BNUC-S is a little overpriced but Euro USC are the only show in town so thats natural.
Its not too costly if you consider it as what is is, a professional certificate that will allow you to operate commercially. and especially if you consider MK want about £1000 or something for a commercial licence just to use their Navictrl.
The problem I have with the BNUC is that it is not generic to fixed, rotary or multi up to 20kg. The BNUC is only valid for the UAS you sat the test with. (unless Euro USC have changed the policy since the summer.) Thats where it could get expensive.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info. I've got a natural aversion to jumping through £1400 hoops, hopefully after doing the course I'll see it in a different light. As you say they've got the market sewn up and I guess it's unlikely anyone other routes are going to come along soon.

Cheers

Welcome Rob. Good luck with getting the license, luckily I got mine before the BNUC course was brought in, but still paid £1K for training with air2air.
