I'm a newbi in R/C and especially multirotors, so I'll begin with a complete basic set of DJI 550/NazaGPS/Graupner MX20 from a german dealer. My intention is to learn flying scills (and some electronic too) for getting in a year or so an octocopter (XM, VM) for professional using a multirotor platform for carrying a thermal imaging cam for photovoltaic service missions (i.e. http://www.flir.com/cs/emea/de/view/?id=57505). I know it's pricey, but this could be a growing market in times of 'green energy' .
Also i could use the multirotor + cam (gopro-like) for observing and controlling oecological research themes.
Hope to find some ideas and help in this international forum.

Welcome to this forum, you won't regret to have signed up....lots of nice people and good info here.

I was checking your link for photovoltaic services...very cool idea. I guess we are just in the beginning of all the great things a Multirotor can do.....being part of it gives a great feeling.
