Hex copter / Naza M V2 problems

I really need help from someone that is familiar with building a hex copter with Naza M V2 flight controller .
The problem I'm having is after calibrating the gyros and compass etc , and while tethered to a desk , I throttle - up
just enough to see some sort of effort to lift off , the nose always lifts off first , as though it were out of balance .
Everything has been dbl & triple checked .
I've ordered a spare 4014 320 kv motor , and a spare 45 amp ESC , because the only thing I can find is # 5 motor
always stops first , but seems no different than the other 5 motors .
I would appreciate any and all input .

Thanks John

This is not unusual behaviour necessarily.

Just to check a few things:

- which mode are you taking off in (manual, alti, or GPS?). For a first flight I would recommend Alti, unless you're a very experienced pilot and comfortable in manual. Don't test GPS on a first flight unless you're absolutely 100% certain that you have got good satellite lock and recorded home position.

- double check the motor numbering and the connection order (so M1, M2, etc on the Naza are all correctly connected to the right motors, as according to the Naza instructions).

- double check the rotation of the motors (without props on), to make sure they are all spinning the correct way according to the Naza instruction.

- double check the prop direction (CW, CCW) matches the motor spin.

- check the centre of balance by trying to hold it with 2 fingers on each side arm. If it's violently turning one way or the other, you might want to redistribute weight. The easiest way to do this is usually by shifting your batteries slightly forward or backwards.

If all looks good, just take it somewhere with a bit of open space, put it in Alti mode, and give it some throttle. You need to get a metre of so up in the air for it to level out properly, especially given the size motors you're running (lots of prop wash).

It sounds like a decent sized bird - do you want to post a photo?

Yeah thanks , I've dbl and triple checked , the mode ( ATTI ) , prop rotation , ( odd ## CCW , even ## CW ) all motors are infact all ,
( 4014 , kv 320 ) , all props match sets , ( 14 x 7.0 carbon fiber ) well balanced , and have same pitch , i : e : they all match compared
to a make shift angle / pitch gauge , ( similar to what I used years ago on the two ultralights / light sport aircraft I built ,
( a 2 seat Kolb and a twin engine hummingbird ) . Getting back to the hex copter .
The only thing I find is that , # 5 motor always stops first , when I shut down , so I just swapped # 5 with # 2 which seems to stop last .
As soon as the rest of the tenants / occupants in this building get up and go to work , I'll test that theory .
I have a spare motor and ESC , and tachometer , on order , but I can't sit around and do nothing .
Oh , and everytime I tried to post a pic , this site says NO , maybe you can tell me how .
THANKS JOHN
