Right, start at the start... Yes you can use a 2 way switch for the U channel, and make it give you Gps and either atti, failsafe or manual. You need to have the Naza assistant open and connected whilst you move the receiver switch. If the chanel limits are wrong it will overshot slightly and fall into the ' failsafe zone' between settings. Adjust the Channel end points to get your settings in the middle of the options you want.
Next take off your props, go into the basic settings for the type of multi rotor it is and run a motor test on each motor in turn, and check the direction of spin against the diagram. Swap any 2 ESC leads on motors that are spinning wrong.
Then make sure that your props are on correctly... Now the motors are spinning correctly, the props should spin with the leading edge at the top, if the leading edge is at the bottom it is on the wrong motor.
Finally put the quad on a flat surface, and do a basic, then advanced IMU calibration.
When you first go to try it after, plug it in whilst flat and level and leave it to get a Gps lock. Then do a compass calibration as per the DJI manual, by toggling between gps and manual on the U channel 10 times or so, then do the calibration dance...
If all is not well after that, you have a bad ESC, motor, or have the motors plugged in the wrong ports - but you will find they out in the motor test.
