Hello from West Scotland

I've joined up to gain as much advice and support that I can get. I've been thinking about a change of career from Broadcasting systems engineer to some sort of UAV pilot. I work for a large TV broadcaster but I don't even think that they use UAVs.
What is the best starting point? I've been doing a lot of online reading and I know that there are certifications that are required if you want to do aerial work. I don't own a multi-rotor platform yet so any help would be grateful.

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Welcome to the site Wally!

A good place to start is the Group Build thread in the Beginners' Lounge. From there you'll have a better sense of what needs to be done to get a heli flying and to keep it flying. Writing a big check is another way to get started but we really don't recommend that approach here, especially for people that are completely new to the world of remotely piloted vehicles.

Have a good read and get to work! You're going to be busy for a while!

Welcome.

Hi there, I'm based in Inverness if you want to PM me. There is a guy on the Black Isle that works for local media companies and another chap on here who is out Lossiemouth way that does similar.

Best, Matt.

Thanks very much. I went through the videos last night and I think i'll go down that route.
I need to get myself some new tools but I'll start ordering bits and bobs soon.
