Hello all just got bit by the multirotor bug, just picked up a mini yesterday. I broke my own record and achieved a hover of 1 minute although it was only 2 inches off the ground and the quad was wobbly as hell....:) but hey I'm stoked.

anyone here from Orange County, CA?

Whitebelt- 1 minute hover 2" off the ground is pretty good with all the ground effect turbulence issues. To get out off the prop wash turbulence you should take it up around 3'. A fall from that height should not damage anything either. Stay away from corners, ceilings, and walls for similar reasons- you'll get pulled/sucked into them. The quads have a natural tendency to find stuff to hit. They are particularly fond of ceiling fans and hanging plants.

lol...yes I have discovered that, I'm sure most of my issues are because I'm just an inexperienced pilot, but compared to the YouTube vids I've seen I think I need to adjust some of the trim setting but I don't really know.

Time fliess when your having fun!!!....... enjoy the journey...... 20 and 30 minutes flights are something else!!

Don't start messing around with trim settings without having first established a baseline if you are using a programmable Tx. Otherwise you are always correcting from an unknown set of parameters. It's too haphazard a way to get to that "tune" you like. What mini are you flying?

hubsan h107d, I adjusted some trim setting and it seems better than before but still drifts a bit, not sure if what I'm seeing is normal but a lot better than before.

I want to hurry up and learn how to fly so I can upgrade my rotor, those fpv models are awesome!

Hi White Belt, welcome to the site! That little Hubsan will be cranking around the front yard before too long so hang in there.
