Hello!

My name is Lasse and I has just started with this exciting hobby.
Last week I got home my platform, a DJI Flame Wheel F450, now am I waiting for Naza controller without GPS for the moment.
Bought a radio as well, a Spectrum DX6i, a good beginner radio I have heard.

I live far up north in Sweden, in the little town Boden. Now in the winter, we have a lot of snow and I like skiing so it's perfect.
In the summer it's warm, sunny and nice. (I having lived nearly nine years in Gothenburg, but moved home 2007).

Well, like many others I dream to fly up in the air and use camera/FPV. But one thing at a time!
- Now I will learn to fly the platform first. Here at home it's been training with Phoenix RC, which feels good.

Have a nice day

Hi Lasse

Welcome to the forum....but oh my god, you live almost next to the North Pole, interesting town nevertheless. The furthest up North I've been in Sweden was Södertälje (maybe 3 times a year to visit a customer), but I hate the Swedish winters.....dark all day and cold. But all the Swedish people I have met so far are among the nicest folks on this planet. Cool to have you here as a member now.....

Keep well

Chris

Welcome Lasse,

I have the very same setup as you! F450 and Dx6i, I'm very new to this too. Loving the F450 with Naza, flies great and I'm deffo getting the hang of it. I've picked up some good info from these forums already. I'm changing onto 4s Batteries and the 8" props this weekend, going to give this a try because I'm told the F450 flies much better with the 8" props.

I intend to eventually have a an FPV system onboard. I've already flown with the GoPro onboard, with reasonable results.

This is one of my first efforts! excuse the take off :)

Hello Chris and thanks for the welcome!

I agree with you, it's pretty dark and cold about two months "in the middle of winter." But then it turns back and becomes incredibly nice.
Our summers are warm, then we have the sun around the clock!

I live about 100 Swedish mil north from Södertälje. *Ha-Ha*

Austria is a beautiful country, I have not been there myself (Yet), but both heard and seen much from your country.
- And I know that you have lots of nice ski slopes! *Mmm*

Best Regards

Hello Parkyi and Thank you for the welcome!

What fun that we have the same setup on the platforms, but we're probably not alone... :nevreness:

I became interested in these hobby a few months ago, before I knew nothing!
I'm hang also at few Swedish forums and have received great help and advice.

So you've gone from 3S battery and 10" propellers for 4S and 8" now?
- I was going to start with 10", but maybe it's better with 8"? *Hmm*

Looked at your movie, you fly really well even if there is little to train on.
I'm still in the flight simulator and practice.

Best Regards

Hi again,

Yeh I'm on 3300mah 3S Turnigy nanotech batteries at the moment along with the 10" props that came with the kit. I'm really happy with how it flies at the moment, but I've had good advice that they fly even better with the 4S and 8", so thought I'd give it a go, I'll let you know the results and maybe post some more vids to youtube. I've ordered some Zippy compact 4000mah 4S batteries, which should be here tomorrow, so will be trying the new battery/prop setup at weekend :)

By the way, Ski'ing is ideal, I spent Xmas in Mayrhofen, Austria :) and I'm off to Gressoney in Italy in Feb. I envy you living in a country where Ski'ing is on your doorstep.

Best Regards

Hello Parky!

It was exactly the same battery I figured ordering from Hobby King and also replace original propellers that came with the kit.
- I have been told that the DJI's propellers can break a part when you fly! *Hmm*

Well, it will be very exciting to hear what you think of your new setup!
With 8" propeller the platform will be less sensitive to wind, but it's just things I read and heard...

Yes, one of the reasons why I moved home and to the north was for winter and skiing.
In Gothenburg, where I lived almost 9 years it's rain and blew all winter months...

Wonderful to go skiing in Austria and then Italy.
I never been in the Alps, but I hope I can be there some day. :)

We travel up to Riksgränsen, Björkliden or Abisko when we want to skiing and relax.
- But we have nice slopes around Boden too.

Have a nice day

Hello Tomas!

I've seen some mosquitoes with down jacket, that's all... :eagerness:
Excuse me, but now I write in our mother tongue:

/Lasse
