Gimbal for dji f450

Firstly apologies if this has been asked before.

I want to attach a gimbal to fit a go pro 3 to my quad but the zenmuse one is well over 200 pounds. Looking on eBay they sell cheaper ones from china but will they work?

I am not after super professional video but stable video. My quad also has the white plastic extended legs so I wanted to avoid the gimbal/landing gear option if possible and just screw the gimbal onto the frame itself.

My dji has the naza lite so do the gimbals plug into the naza lite and get power via the lipo?

It looks like the ones from China just need a power supply from a battery and don't plug into the naza lite.

I know you get what you pay for but I wanted to find a happy medium.

Cheers

Terry.

Hi there Terry!

Everyone always asks these types of questions (I know I have!) so it's all good! :) I would suggest a few things:

1. Check out the F450 owners thread as it has a lot of cool mods and information
2. If there is a gimbal within your price range youtube the model as someone probably has one and has posted a video of their setup!
3. One thing I almost did when I was starting was buy a cheap gimbal. Make sure you TRIPLE CHECK that it has a control board with it and also that the software used to set it up is compatible with your computer (IE Windows or mac). Nothing worse then buying something you can't use...
4. You can't use the zenmuse with the Naza Lite so I would recommend the Tarot 2D gimbal. Great gimbal for a pretty reasonable price. It is the cheaper version of the zenmuse and there is a LOT of people who have it and a lot of threads with help if you get stuck.

I hope this is a good starting point. Enjoy and PM me if you have any more questions!

Hi there,

fantastic! Thank you for the reply and the useful info. I had no idea that you could not use the zenmuse with the naza lite so you have already saved me a couple of hundred quid thanks!

I must learn not to rush and just buy something without checking properly.

I did make the mistake of buying the muvi hd camera rather than a go pro because it was cheaper. I didn't realise that all of the gimbals only really work with the go pro. Now I am going to have to buy a go pro anyway lol.

I will check out some of the other posts and see what other folks have done on here.

cheers.
