Gimbal connection to receiver

Can anybody help me figure out how to wire my gimbal to my receiver?

I have a Tarot T4 - 3D and according to the manual both servo cables connect to seperate channels on my receiver (X8R) for mode switching and motor control. I have tried different combinations of switch positions etc and also disconnecting the red 5v wire (as stated in the manual) but so far have got nowhere.

My current setup is a Pixhawk connected via SBUS using channels 1-8 and 9-16 physically on the X8R (mode 4). Channel 9 and 10 (1&2 in the picture) are my landing gear and FPV cam switch. My intention was to connect the 2 servo cables from the gimbal to C11-12 and control with dials on my Taranis.
I have set the switches up as I normally do and frankly have become a bit stuck!

Does anyone know what my problem is?

Danny

Well I'm no gimbal expert but I guess its safe to assume that it's not the receiver. It may be the set up on the radio but you could prove that by hooking up a servo to Ch 11 and 12 to prove they have an output signal. After that your left with the gimbal itself.

Well... I have just tried the landing gear in another channel other than CH9 and it doesn't work. I will take back what I said about the FPV switch too.
Basically CH10-16 do not work, only CH9 and obviously 1-8 through SBUS.

What has really got me now is that if I change the switch in mixer settings for C9 (Usually a logic function when the throttle is more than 50%) to anything else, it remembers the old switch an d the new setting has no effect.

I have re-binded the receiver and that doesn't seem to fix it.

This seems to be my problem...

Any thoughts?

That's what I was initially leading up too in my original post. On the page where you bind is a setting that you can make 1-16. It may be at 1-8 on yours.

Cheers guys, I've found what was throwing me off. Somehwere along the way I had rebinded without shorting pins 1+2 and 3+4 together.
My servos are now functioning the way they should.

Still no gimbal control.....

I'm thinking of splicing the SBUS servo cable between Pixhawk and X8R and and connecting the gimbal there. Then setting the Pixhawk to control the Gimbal on 2 channels, 6, 7 or 8 I think would be possible.

Other than that I have no idea. You'd think it would be simple.
