Focus with GH3 and Panny 12-35mm

What do you guys do for focus on this lens? Do you just put it on auto and forget it? I generally try to run infinity, but the 12-35 doesn't have a notch for infinity, meaning we would have to find it manually for every flight - time consuming and need to be careful not to nudge it at all while screwing the cam into place.

If you use auto does this cause you to lose any shots when you are flying closely past things?

most lenses are pretty safe to turn all the way out and then just a notch back in. gaffers tape it. take a pic and check it.

The focus ring doesn't have an end point. It just keeps turning.

doesnt mean the focus keeps going. you cant look through the camera and see/feel where it stops??

We could do that. It would just be nice not to have to worry about setting focus at all.
