I winter in Mexico and I want to take one of my quads to fly.
Has anyone had the experience of taking their multirotor on a commercial airliner?
Specifically Frontier.

Yes..... several flight without issue and with a larger size Hex no issues. But always carry your Li-Po batteries onboard with you at 50% charge and carefully packed to prevent shorting, damage etc.
A fire in the passenger section can be noticed and brought under control.
But a fire in baggage storage is almost always catastrophic.

The LiPo batteries used on quads are generally well under the radar screen for TDG and HAZMAT restrictions......

Keep in mind that many tourists travelling with expensive personal equipment such as SCUBA gear frequently discover upon arrival in many Mexico destinations that their gear has been pilferred.
Pack your Quad in a hardshell case c/w TSA approved lock... and get extra luggage insurance if possible.

also, realize that in mexico your guilty till innocent. if there is insurance, if it was me, i'd get it. That place is hell on the inside, take it from experiance

we have insurance in every country for uav but mexico and our policy states you need to get it from a mexican company and even then to be extremely careful

you might ask somebody like Transport risk management..... That's where i read that from in our policy. that place is weird, if your visiting your uncle the mayor or police chief, don't worry about it, if your a greengo at a hotel, be careful
