Fail Safe and Auto Land

I set up a DJI 330 with my NAZA. I flipped the switch to have it go into Failsafe. It turned around came back and autolanded. What it did that my WKM Hex doesn't do is when it touched down it went back up about 5 inches, came back down, went up about 3 inches and then finally touched down and turned the motors off. My Hex lands and the motors shut off. Any ideas on parameters I need to change.

That behavior is very typical as evidenced by lots of videos on youtube demonstrating the Naza failsafe function. I solved mine by altering the GPS vertical coordinates in the calibration. remember that your vertical value (Z value) MUST always be negative ( -ve) if your GPS is mounted on top of your craft as is usually the case.

So did you add more negative or take negative away from the actual measurement to get it not to do that.

Thanks

I had mine as -10 initially (10 cm which was the height of the GPS module from the top plate) . When i set it to -12 the 'bouncing' behavior with fail safe auto landing greatly improved. I will assume this values will be different for each crafts dimensions so experiment yours and see if you can solve it by adding a bit or removing to the negative Z axis value.

Sorry, i am out of solutions as i can only attest to what solved my own problem,i hope you figure this out and please post any updates.
On another note, considering the failsafe is only when the craft gets into a sticky situation or looses signal that it is activated, 2 bounces on arrival should be the least of your worries as compared to the alternative of loosing your craft or damaging person or property. even then, you can always manually take over the craft when it gets closer to home and land it yourself in a bounce-less manner if that is your worry.

I am not to worried about the way it works in a true fail safe problem. When you are giving a demo to someone showing how it can autoland it just looks better if it doesn't bounce like my WKM. Will post if I get it to not do the bounce.
