F550 frame alternative?

http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?6322-F550-AP-ship-progress-so-far - So this is my ship, I crashed my F550, and i'm thinking of a different frame this time. I'm considering a new frame because my F550 is getting heavy.. with 11" props it still has plenty of power but I'd still like the ability to use 12" in the future. I read people have bad results with 12" on the f550 I don't want to pay 1,000 USD for a frame though, so cheaper is better. I love the cheap parts of the F550. If it could be easily adapted to the aeroxcraft landing gear/VTR125 gimbal that would be a plus. I'll probably just go with the F550 frame again, but maybe there is another nice cheap frame I don't know about, Any suggestions?

Anyone have any info on this frame? H.A.L. (heavy aerial lift) Hexacopter. It looks pretty solid, and could fit 12-13" props for better use of my Avroto motors. If I could get my aeroxcraft VTR125 gimbal to mount on it, I'd give it a go. All I would really need to do, is find a way to mount the 2 payload rails, then I could mount the aeroxcraft gimbal/battery holders on it.

Have you had a look at the frames on OMGFly.com, they have some really nice frames at good prices. The H.A.L. looks like junk to me and I would stay well clear.

Thanks, I did not know about their frames! This one looks pretty good too. They have a few nice ones actually..
EDIT: After skimming this thread, I'm having doubts about the quality of their frames. They report quite a few problems. :/

Personally, I'm impressed with this frame.

Really rugged.

I also like the Carbon Core frames, but think I would go the Vulcan route instead.

It's more costly, sure, than an f550 but could handle anything you would ever want to throw up in that air!

Next year ought to be pretty exciting in the frame department! I've been in communication with a guy locally who is soon to start production of a really nice frame. Just so many changes we will see.

Myself, my x/a Hexa has turned into a fat pig, now that I'm running 2 4s 5000mah batterys on her, plus the fpv battery.
I was quite suprised at how well she handled the weight, though. Just don't think it could handle much more though, like a real gimbal.
I'll hold off though until later and see what the future brings. Until then my Hexa will do just fine. Just dreading the day it goes back to kit form, again.

CarbonCore frames look really nice! I like their hex, and it folds thats a plus. Allot more pricy then my F550 though, I'm allready on my 3rd replacement frame with that haha. Would be really cool to get my aeroxcraft gear/gimbal on one of those. I'm also still considering the H.A.L. from hobbyking.. Probably just stick with my F550 frame but it's nice to see what else is out there. Can't decide really.. Thx for the frame ideas guys

Just ordered the H.A.L. Hex from hobbyking. When it comes in I'll decide to either stick with my F550 or put my landing gear/gimbal on the HAL. Ugh I will never save money with this hobby, it's like a sickness.
