F550 @ 2.7-2.9 KG Hot motor with all the kit running

I've just added all the kit. Aeroxcraft VTR125 gimbal, landing gear and GoPro3 Silver. She's running a little under 2.9KG not sure if COG is correct but I'm getting a HOT motor on one of the arms. Front Left (Looking from behind) All other motors are running cool. I'm wondering if this is due to COG not being set. I'm running a 3S battery setup due to weight and FPV kit likes 11 volt. Don't really want to change all the wiring. I know it DJI550 should be at 2.4KG max but I know of people running higher. Hot motor has only started since adding the kit.

Any thoughts guys/girls?

Strange but true.. Just flew with 5.0 3S which added more weight and motor did not heat up.. Wonder if COG for sure.

I would make a lot of sense if the CG issue was involved here. As the craft lifts off, the MC (Master Controller) receives inputs from accelerometers, and gyros which indicates a tendency to drop one side (likely the side your motor gets hotter now). To address this, the MC will spin that motor faster constantly to compensate for the drop due to improper CG location.

As a pilot, you see nothing but notice that flight time seems shorter and that one engine is hot upon landing... Redistribute whatever you can move so that the ship basically balances when you pick up 2 opposite legs with one finger and raise the craft. If the motor still get hot with the craft balanced, try changing the motor with another (swap). It it still get hot where the other motor did not, change that motor. It is not worth 25.00 risking your ship.

Even with good motors, an unbalanced copter will draw extra power from the battery and will make one or two motos work harder. With items attached with velcro, it is relatively easy to have a well balanced craft with all flying configuration.

Hoping this helps you out!

Thanks for the info Roger. Now I have a gimbal on I need to do the lower Z access as well I think needs to be higher in value as CG is now lower as well.
