external power for Gimbal?

Hi guys,

I had some troubles a few days ago while trying out FLIR thermographical camera on my Hexa with WKM and GR-16:

I have use buildt in WIFi connection from camera to iPad.
Everything went fine a while.

Suddenly I have lost the connectiofrom Sender to receiver (MX20 GR-16)
Hexa has landed save thanks to WKM failsave mode.

What went wrong?

I have two theories:

1. WIFI
The built in antenna from the camera is only 3-5cm away from GR-16 antennas
I would expect disturbances (even with frequency hopping in both connections) as both is 2.4GHz

2. Receiver fails due to high current
I have a CS6 and CS Gimbal, where camera pitch is directly controlled and driven by GR-16.
As this was a test flight, I have not fully adopted the Gimbal to this hughe camera.
In the on board video from camera I have seen afterwards, that while adjusting pitch during flight, the gimbal was mechanically block several times, also just before the incident.
Block servos will pull high current as I know.
Could this lead into the failure too?

If 2 was the root cause, would it help to prevent similar accidents by taking the power for the gimbal servis not from the receiver or WKM, but take it directly from the powerboard, and connect only the control wire to the wkm or receiver?

Frank
